#PowerOfLiveEvents has become the first Hungarian project to win an audience award at BEA
The #PowerOfLiveEvents event series of events, named with the support of the Budapest Convention Bureau, co-organized by Special Effects, Visual Europe Group and Bo-Live Branding Agency, was a huge international success at the Best Event Awards, the most prestigious international event festival!
According to the festival audience, the project, implemented with the participation of almost the entire Hungarian event industry, was the best entry of the year.
The Best Event Award (BEA) festival, organised since 2006, announced the winners and presented the professional awards on the evening of 16 December as part of an online event. The Hungarian project won the “People’s Choice Award” from 99 shortlisted entries, to become the best entry selected by the audience in 2020. This was the first Hungarian project to win an award at the event industry’s most significant festival (although one was shortlisted in 2018), so this victory is extremely important!
#PowerOfLiveEvents is an initiative realised by Special Effects and Visual Europe Group, joined by Bo Live as co-organiser. The main sponsor, BUD CB, supported the initiative with significant financial assistance, while its professional partner, the capital’s tourism company, Budapest Brand Nonprofit Plc assisted with the unique, eye-catching decorative lighting of 40 buildings in Budapest. Hungary’s major trade associations of Hungary also took part in the promotion and implementation.
The audience award is a fantastic international recognition for this project and for our professionals, for their exemplary attitude. We are extremely proud that the international event market has rewarded this initiative, as we are also working to ensure that service providers interested in our industry have access to as many events ordered by international clients as possible. Anna Békefi, Director of BUD CB explained why they had been happy to support both the implementation of the event series and the festival nomination.
Zsolt Kassai, CEO of Special Effects International Plc underlined that it was a particular pleasure to have won with a project that was a professional collaboration. Given the current circumstances, he felt that there was a real need for initiatives such as #PowerOfLiveEvents and positive news. He also pointed out that they were not only proud of Special Effects’ international projects and clients, but also of the fact they had managed to receive an award with an event initiated by Hungarians.
Zsófia Dobos, Founder of Bo Live said “We are speechless! This is a huge recognition for us, the companies involved in the projects, our clients and the entire Hungarian industry. Making it onto the shortlist was a big achievement at such a prestigious festival, but never in our wildest dreams did we think that we would get an award right away”.
The festival’s audience award is great news for the entire Hungarian event industry. The recognition by the event’s international audience also represents something outstanding for the Hungarian event service provider sector, as this has put Budapest and Hungary on the European event map.
